The Riverboat Tour of a Lifetime
The Tarcoles River
Located just 20 minutes outside of Jaco Beach, the Tarcoles River is wildlife hot-spot. This river is believed to have the highest American Crocodile population in the world at over 25 crocodiles per square kilometer! You’ll see crocodiles of all sizes (some up to 16 feet), and the more adventurous thrill seekers may even get lucky enough to grab a 15-foot crocodile by the tail!
Crocodiles, Giant green iguanas, Common basilisks, Monkeys and more!
But it isn’t just big crocs that you’ll find on this adventure, there are many other frequent sightings: Giant green iguanas, common basilisks (Jesus Christ Lizards), monkeys, various species of heron and egret, mangrove black-hawks, osprey, mangrove hummingbirds, flycatchers, great tinamou, and orange collared manikins – and this is to just name a few!
Your bilingual guide (English, Spanish, and some French) will point out dozens of the harder to spot species and teach you about the local plant life and ecology as well.
