World Class Whitewater Rafting
You might not have heard, but Costa Rica is loaded with world class whitewater rafting! Many of the mountain ranges interconnect, stretching from coast to coast throughout much of the country. Tropical rains and high-altitude cloud forests provide consistent precipitation and keep river levels full around the peaks that make up the center of the country, allowing for a multitude of rivers that rush down to sea level near the coastline for most of the year.
A couple of the best whitewater rivers are located just a little over an hour from Jaco Beach!
Savegre River White Water Rafting
The class II and III rapids in this section of the Savegre River are a bit milder than those of the Naranjo River tour, making this white water rafting adventure perfect for beginners who want some adrenaline pumping fun, but also sections of calm, pristine waters.
Coming out of the Talamanca mountains, this stretch of coastal river is considered one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. Surrounded by waterfalls and canyons in the heart of this area’s primary forests, the natural scenery and wildlife does not disappoint!
After your river run is complete, your guide will teach you about the local flora and fauna and show you to a spectacular waterfall, where you can swim, relax, and refresh yourself with some snacks (a delectable homemade lunch is also served on this tour) before concluding your adventure.
Pregnant women should not participate in this tour.
